Q: The window displays weird characters and emojis

A: Please make sure Found is closed (and there is no hidden tray icon), and then open "document/Found/found.ini" with a text editor, append the following two lines at the end, save the file and restart Found:

A: Please make sure you have updated your graphics card driver to the latest version. If the problem persists, make sure Found is closed (and there is no hidden tray icon), and then open "document/Found/found.ini" with a text editor, append the following two lines at the end, save the file and restart Found:

Q: Can I set the database somewhere other than the default path?

A: You can do so before the installation, or change it in the setting dialogue(WIP). But please assign it to a local SSD Drive if possible, which guarantees maximum performance when browsing files with Found.

Q: Can I set the database to the same network folder for different people in the same office?

A: No! Each user should have their respective local database. A shared database will severely affect the overall performance.

Q: How much space will the cache take up?

A: The cache takes up 1 GB per 30k assets, which is generally insignificant.

Q: Why do I need a network connection to use Found?

A: Found implements a grey-box testing model to collect run-time data, detect potential bugs, and acquire the real-time user account type. The collected data are purely about the software features, which have nothing to do with the local files. We have a strict privacy policy (aalab.com/privacy-policy) which we also tightly follow. Pro users will soon be able to work with Found without a stable network environment for up to 7 days. If you are a cooperate representative looking for an offline solution, or requiring high-level customization, please contact us at hello@aalab.com.

Q: Why does it show the error "Timeout or failure when installing VC Runtime Library" during the installation of Found?

A: Please uninstall Found and reinstall it. When reinstalling, make sure to right-click and run as administrator.



Q: How to resolve frequent freezing and unresponsiveness in Found?

A: Found is currently undergoing optimization and may experience freezing and unresponsiveness when accessing a new folder with a large number of asset files for the first time. We recommend waiting for a moment before continuing to use it. If you encounter this issue frequently, please contact us to report the bug.
